The Bare Truth

THE ORIGINAL PRACTICE CHEST SEAL

TRAIN LIKE ITS REAL ...

The man on the left is James Cheezum.  Jim kindly agreed to be our test subject, at the EMS Today conference in Baltimore. The object of this impromptu experiment was to compare the results of removing a medical chest seal from hair covered skin compared to Practi-seal and Simu-seal.

The results were painfully obvious.  In fact, downright “hair-raising”. When a medical chest seal was placed on Jim’s right forearm and removed, Jim literally lost almost every hair on his right arm.  Where did it all go?  See the picture below showing all of his hair adhering to the underside of the medical chest seal that was pulled from his skin. The Practi-seal, on the other hand (literally), stuck well, but peeled off with no hair loss and no discomfort.

So why use Practi-seal when training with chest seals?
